The first paragraph of the
reading was interesting. It shows us the character of Vyasa when it says that
there was no one worthy of writing and when he finds god Ganesha, he makes
Ganesha agree on not stopping the pen even for a moment while he writes the
story. For me Vyasa is one of the extra ordinary character with lot of pride in
him. It is also amazing to read that the fish gave birth to a boy and a girl.
In our world this doesn’t seem possible.
Devavrata, son of Ganga
and Shantanu went to search for Satyavati and vows that he will never accepts
the throne if Saryavati will marry King Shantanu. This noble act of Devavrata
led to shower of flowers from the heaven and the heaven named him Bhisma. It
was a brave act of Bhisma to take three daughters of king of kasha to be bride
for Vichitavirya.
Vyasa and his powers seems
interesting. Ambika gave birth to a blind child , Dhritarashtra and Ambalika
gave birth to pale child, pandu because Ambika closed her eyes and Ambalika
turned pale when they saw Vyasa.
It also amazes me to read
that the sons of Pandu are the son of gods. Pandu was blessed with five sons
and they were called Pandava brothers. Gandhari went blindfolded after learning
her husband was blind. This is a heroic act from Gandhari. Gandhari was the
mother of hundred son!!! who were named Kauravas. I am amazed by this fact.
The jealousy of Kauravas
over Pandava brothers starts as soon as the Pandava brothers gets to Hastinapur.
Kauravas tries to be better than Pandava brothers but fails at each attempt.
The eldest of Kauravas, Duryodhana has a failed attempt to kill Bhima.
